Quire Visualizations

The Beauvais Missal has no foliation, but it does have catchwords. Working backwards from leaves with catchwords, and working under the assumption that the manuscript was constructed of quaternion quires, it is possible to reconstruct quires and, by extension, conjoint birolia. As quires are reconstructed, they will be added to this space. Click on the date ranges at right to see the quire reconstructions.

These visualizations of reconstructed quires were created using the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies' Collation Visualization Generator (http://dorpdev.library.upenn.edu/collation/), with thanks to developer Dot Porter.
